On Site Laboratory Services

We have in clinic diagnostic chemical, electrolyte, and hematology equipment that allows us to run much of our blood work in our hospital. Results are usually available within an hour. This is particularly important in properly handling and serially monitoring critically ill patients and presurgical cases. The results of the tests are transferred into the patient’s permanent medical record.

As well, we have the option to send blood work to a laboratory in Edmonton or Lethbridge for more extensive testing. Either way, we are able to consult with board certified veterinary pathologists on cases regarding test results.

Veterinarians, to more accurately diagnose disease, and to monitor the progress of their patients under treatment, perform necessary lab work. An accurate diagnosis is vital to effective treatment.
